Thankful Thursday

I am thankful…
1.       The week of orientation has gone pretty well.  The class I gave over documentation and notification of parents was extremely well-received and I got a TON of positive feedback.  Even though it was extremely anxiety inducing, I am glad I did it.  It was a great experience for me.
2.       Beautiful rainy weather we’ve had all week.  It’s been wonderful to have a WEEK of August that the temperature didn’t break 80 degrees.  And the rain always makes my heart happy.
3.       Delicious crisp apples and honey peanut butter.  It’s the little things in life that are sometimes the best.
4.       Pleasant full moon ritual with Hazel.  I needed some good ritual time with another Witch.
5.       Getting to sleep in an extra hour this week, as Orientation starts at 9 pm (while the Technology job started at 8 am).  It’s been really pleasant.  And I’m really looking forward to once school starts, of sleeping in a little bit more than that.  ::laughs::
6.       Laser pointer that Josey is now completely obsessed with.  It’s an easy way to help burn off the extra energy she has.
7.       That the loose dog we encountered on our walk this past weekend, had zero interest in Josey and I.  It was extremely humbling to realize that I was NOT really at the top of the food chain and to KNOW in my bones that if that dog chose to, it could have inflicted real damage on Josey and I.  But I am deeply, deeply, DEEPLY grateful that it chose to remain on its side of the street and continue on, doing whatever it had set out to do.
8.       Making a new friend at Orientation – I seem to attract the loud, flashy, slightly-nutty older women.  ::laughs::
9.       My Wifey – Sam.  ::laughs::  She’s my husband’s lesbian coworker that jokes that I’m her wife, and that she is kind enough to share me with David.  We’re going to go cheer her on at her championship soccer game tomorrow night.
10.   Josey – that lil shit of a dog is just too damn cute.  And she’s completely wormed her way into my heart, so even when she does some of the most IRRITATING shit….she’s still friggin’ adorable.  ::laughs::

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful…
1.       We signed all the paperwork to refinance our house, saving us 1.25% on the APR.  It will certainly give us some breathing room on the required payments and allow us to easily tack on extra money each month to go towards the principal.
2.       Only working for the after school program today for three hours – gotta work on the lecture/class.  I will be giving at our orientation next week.
3.       For all the headache and irritation, the Tech Job has been this summer, I really do enjoy it.  Besides, they make for great stories later on.
4.       The amazing fake toad I found at Michael’s.  it started off as a gag for my Mom (she hates toads), but now I really want it.  Hopefully I can pick one up (plus a witch hat for it) this weekend.
5.       A/C – a true blessing when the heat index tops out at +115 degrees during the day.
6.       Postcrossing – I absolutely adore the surprise postcards in my mailbox from all over the world.  It really brightens my day.
7.       The absolute bliss Josey had with the $5 toy bunny I bought her today.  She adores shredding it to pieces.
8.       That Hazel is finally back in the world of digital/cellular communication.  I missed that crazy-ass Leo.
9.       My absolutely hilarious husband – definitely my twin spirit.
10.   Taking steps to get myself back on track – spiritually, psychologically, financially, and physically.

Thankful Thursday

I am thankful…
1.       Beautiful first sliver of the new moon cycle that hung perfect on the western horizon – the tiniest slice that made me pause and just BASK in the glory of La Luna.
2.       Finally sucking it up and dropping in on Hazel.  She’s been unreachable for a while and I just needed to make sure everything was ok.
3.       David reminding me of the video of the two German men trying helium-infused beer.  It’s the perfect thing to bring myself out of the negative tailspin I was in.
4.       The pair of Carolina Wrens.  I have had the privilege of watching the past two days.  I really need to look into the totem qualities of Wren.
5.       That I get to work tomorrow – even though it means I only get a two-day weekend.  It’s optional for the next two Fridays, but it’s extra money on a very lean paycheck.  So I will be there.
6.       The reading I did for myself with The Gilded Tarot for the New Moon on Tuesday.  It was a kick in the teeth, but exactly what I needed to hear.
7.       Quick trip down to Houston with my Mom to celebrate Little Nephew turning two.  Plus I finally got to meet my four-month old Little Niece for the first time.
8.       Nina (my Sister-in-Law’s grandmother), for sitting and chatting with me when my anxiety was crushing me.  I doubt she knows it, but it really helped me out tremendously.
9.       All registered and paid up for my second semester of grad school.
10.   My Mom.  She’s is an amazing blessing in my life.
